What is your website?

What does your band name mean, or what is it from?
We got our name form our attitudes; which is what punk was originally about and not all the superficial crap like dudes wearing makeup and pre-ripped made to look punk clothes. Todays punk scene needs an injection of attitude and the Meanies are back to inject it.

Where are you guys from?
Placentia/ Yorba Linda in North O.C.
how hard is it being a punk band now a days? (let all the hardcore and indie kids know)

Do you have any upcoming shows?
We are going to be playing a reunion show in early 2008 with The Accused and D.I. It will probably be at the Galaxy in Santa Ana. After that we will be playing other venues in southern California for the rest of the year, with a possible mini-west coast tour in the summer of 08.

What inspires most of your lyrics?
Our lyrics are inspired by social hypocrisies mostly.

Do you have any advice to starting punk bands?
Have fun, dont quit, and play with attitude.

What is the best thing about music?
It can empower the masses to question everything

Any funny/interesting stories?
We used to have a right of passage for the new female groupies that came to watch us practice at Snot’s house. The initiation was to grab the new groupie and throw her in Snot’s hideously dirty swamp pool that was in his backyard. Inevitably the new groupie would emerge slimy and sopping wet with her makeup running down her face and her hair sprayed hair flat against her head looking like a helmet with a bad dye job.

What do you think about UFOs?
UFO’s are the spaceships that the Bigfoot creatures use to come back and forth from their planet so that they can make crop circles and swim with the Loch Ness monster.

What do you think of vegetarians?
Vegetarians are neo-hippies who want to save a world that does not want to save itself. Or it could be that they just don’t like irradiated meat and mad cow disease.

What do you guys do for work right now, other than playing music?
Our careers paths thus far have included realty, teaching, plumbing, retail sales, and flipping burgers at a dive bar.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
Black Flag, The Accused, The Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, and HVY DRT just to name a few of the best.

You guys have songs up on your punkrockers profile but do you have a cd out?
We are working currently on a new full-length CD entitled The Meanies - Human Animal, with 11 new songs that is do out sometime in 2008. Look for us to be playing all around the Southern California area as well as other west coast venues.

What do you think of Big Smile?
Big Smile is a great mag, that does a bang up job at promoting and reviewing emerging bands.
