The opening band was My Evolution. They were what I would consider a typical LA heavy rock band. They played a good set and the crowd seemed into them, but it’s just not my cup-o-tea. The next band was The Dear and Departed. I really didn’t know much about them, only that I knew their name. So I had no idea what to expect. They were pretty stinkin’ awesome. They have a good stage presence and I really liked their sound. After their set, I was ready to see them again. I think they are from Orange County, so hopefully I will be able to catch a show of theirs again soon. The headlining band was…you know, I forgot. I wasn’t allowed to take photos of them, so I ended up sitting outside talking to a photographer from Skratch Magazine and the photo liaison person for the Avalon (who, by-the-way, was one of the best photo liaisons I have worked with so far).
