When did you guys start making music?

I (Andrew Beilman) started playing and writing songs with Tanner Enloe and my brother Daniel Beilman in 2009. I would say the band formed and started playing together really earlier this year when we released our record in March.

Where are you guys from?

Most of us are from the Dallas area, Tanner is from Kerrville, TX.

How did you meet each other?

Daniel introduced me to Tanner who started as our lead guitar player, but later he switched to the bass. We met Kylan our drummer from a close friend of mine, who was Kylan’s roommate. We meet Emily through our former fiddle player Carlo Canlas. (God rest his soul …he isn’t dead.)

What kind of music most influences the band?

You know, it’s crazy how many kinds of music influence the band. Every one listens to different stuff which is awesome because it all gets thrown into the mix. I personally have been listening to some Hank Williams Jr., Old and in the Way, and Fleet Foxes just put out an amazing record that has not stopped playing on my record player. Horse Feathers, I grew up on The Beach Boys, my mom would always be playing them in the car where ever we all went. Merle Haggard, Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan. Man so many!

What music could you not breathe without?

I would say probably the music that has already been here, all the legends and the classics, those songs from our childhoods, or our parents’ childhoods. It’s that music that makes the music of today; without them music wouldn't be as big as it is today.

What's the most embarrassing song you like right now?

Sometimes I'll look up “Glamorous” by Fergie on YouTube.

What makes you different than other bands?

Our passion for music, and..................we have Kylan Savage from Truth about Movie Stars! He is our secret weapon.

What category would you place your music?

Folk, acoustic rock with a hint of bluegrass.

What other bands were you guys in before Old Banners?

I played bass for a band in high school called Committed Ha. Kylan is in Truth about Movie Stars. I also played bass for a band called The Breach.

If you could meet yourself as a 10 year old, what would you say to him?

I would probably slap the hell out of the ten year old me, followed with "you’re about to make some really bad choices."

Anything you would like to say to anyone reading this interview?

Thanks to everyone that has helped us out so far. We love you all, and I love my wife Nikki!
