Un-Freakin’-Believable… I went to this show because I really, really, really wanted to see Dear and the Headlights. I got their CD, Small Steps, Heavy Hooves, a few months ago and ever since it has been one of my favorite CDs. So needless to say, I was really anxious to see them live. Boy, they did not disappoint at all. Their live show is rockin’. I loved every minute and these guys were the opening act! I was starting to feel bad for the bands that were to follow. That didn’t last long because as soon as As Tall As Lions hit the stage, my mouth fell to the floor again. ATAL plays very mellow, melodic, and beautiful music, but don’t think for a second that there was no energy. Their live show was absolutely amazing and wholly entertaining. I bought their CD, As Tall As Lions, after the show and it is as equally amazing as their live show. Go check out Dear and the Headlights and As Tall As Lions right now! The headlining band was Mae. I had to stand in the crowd to shoot this show because there was just no room on stage. I got there early enough to get a decent spot in front. Some girl came up to me before the show started and asked me if I was going to stand there the whole time. I said yes because I was there to shoot the show. She was a little upset. Apparently, she got in line about 5 or 6 hours before the doors opened. All to see Mae again! I think this was the second of three shows she was going to in a row to see Mae. Now that is a fan! I almost felt bad for her because I thought Mae was the weakest band that night and Mae is stinkin’ good. That should show you just how good the opening bands were.
