How do you guys like being Sponsored by Code Blue?
We feel that code blue is a great oppertunity for any band. They Do alot for all of there bands and there is no favorite. Nick is a great guy and has his heart in the right place.
Tell us a little bit about all of your other sponsors.
We have a number of other sponsors such as One Cut Clothing, Imporoper clothing, Five Seventy Designs, and Knucklehead guitar strings. They help us out with alot of promoting and various other stuff and they are all very good to us.
We have a lot of readers from CA, could you tell us a little about how the music scene is in Pennsylvania?
The Music scene in pa is very hard to get into in our area. It's all metal and we really are not that metal though we have our metal parts. There is alot of Drama in our scene about who wears what, who is dating who, which band is the cool band to be this week. we are just in it to rock and have paid our dues to the "scene" if thats what you call it so we get our respect i guess.
Is their a lot of venues out there and is it hard to book shows?
Like we said its not easy to get shows in our scene unless you are from it or know someone from it really well. There are a number of venues but we keep losing them due to kids being disrespectful.
What do you think about UFOs?
Yo you gotta watch out for that stuff. They sneak right up on you and next thing you know there is a prob up your but and you can't take a dump for a week.
What do you think of vegetarians?
Yeah they are pretty tasty. Haha No really we respect that everyone has their own ideas and beliefs so we all agree its pretty cool and this summer we spend some time helping peta get kids to sign petitions (IM NOT A NUGGET)
What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
Mike Soxy- Well we are all into pretty much everything but Dirk has always been mainly into the pop punk bands such as sum 41, blink 182, allister and such while brandon and ryan like classic rock and harder radio rock like rage against the machine, Nirvana, and Rush and I am pretty much into indie rock like cursive and mewithoutyou but The Police will always be my fav.
What bands have infulanced your music the most?
we have to many ifluences to just say one band
Do any of the members of the band play in any other bands?
Sometimes mike soxy does this crazy acoustic set thing but other then that The Groundbreaking Cermemony is our only band.
Anything you would like to say to your fans reading this interview?
We love all of you and keep checking out our myspace for updates.
How do you guys like touring?
Well we would like to tour in a bus but we are to poor so we like it just fine in a van
Any plans to tour to CA?
Yeah. We plan to play everywhere we can. This is all we want to do so why not. CA seems to have a really strong music scene where the kids love it.
Do you guys have a CD out right now?
We are actually getting ready to record our debut full length at watchman studios in NY. They have worked with a number of great bands including Gym Class Heros, Phyopus, and our boys from PA A FAREWLL RESCUE (snapdragon records). IF you have not checked out afr go to there myspace and do it www.myspace.com/afarewellrescue .
You guys have a lot of attention from a lot of people and i know that takes a lot of promoting, do you have any promoting secrets that have worked the best for you guys?
There is not secret to hard work and dedication.
What do you think of Big Smile Magazine?
Honestly being from PA I have never had the pleasure of reading it so please send me some copies with this interview and i will get them out around our area.
