I'm Jae Young and I'm a solo artist
Who got you interested in playing this kind of music?
My friend Young Spade was the 1 that got me into rapping.

What is music to you?
It's everything. It's what gets me thru a lot of s**t

How did you come up with your name?
I use to go by Young Jae and for some reason people kept gettin it mixed up so I just switched it and it sounds better anyway.

What other groups have you been in, why did they end or how are they going?
I was in a rap group with Young Spade & Cognac we was called S.O.D.

Did you have any previous group names?
Yea we were called Chi-Burners.

What venue has been the best to play at?
The Abbey Pub.

What city or area has been the best place to play?
Chicago.

When, Where and How was your first show?
In 2002, Evanston at a talent show.

How have you seen yourselves get better since then?
Yea a lot.

Where was your best show?
At Evanston Township High School.

What makes a show the best?
When the crowd is really into it.

Who do you one day want to play a show with or open for?
The Diplomats.

Why do you play music?
It's in me and I can't see myself doing anything else.

What makes you strive to be heard?
Anything on t.v. because I know that could be me.

What inspires most of your lyrics?
My environment.

Why would anyone want to hear your music?
It's good music and its somethin that EVERYBODY can enjoy.

What you are saying thru your music?
Is the truth. It might not all be positive but everything ain't positive.

Where do you wish for you to be in 5 years?
On a major label and #1 on the charts.

What do you think its going to take to get there?
Dedication.

Where have you been playing lately and how has your response been?
All in Chicago and so far positive responses.

Do you have any advice to starting bands?
Don't let anybody tell you that you can't do make it.

What is the best thing about music?
It lets people express themselves thru it.

What is the worst thing about music?
Sometimes they express themselves but others can't relate.

What inspires you to play?
Just getting my family into a better life

What do you want to see happen thru music in the future?
People of all ages enjoy it.

What are you doing to progress those ideas?
By making music that's made for everybody.

What religion are you?
Christian.

Does your religion effect your music?
No, not really.

What do you think about UFOs?
I haven't seen any, so not much.

What do you guys do for work right now, other than playing music?
Go to school for Music Business.

Does being involved in playing music make you miss out on anything?
No

What advantage do you have above other people because you play music?
I get a lot of attention.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
Jay-Z, Nas, DMX, Tupac & Biggie.

What would you say to a kid who has no faith in himself?
That's not the way to be because if you don't then who will.

What would you saw if you saw yourself as a 10 year old kid playing at the park?
Not to change anything within these next 9 years.

Every bands music changes over the years, but do you like playing and the style of the old stuff?
Yea a lot.

What's your latest recordings?
It's a mixtape "Killin' Time".

How long did you wait from start to finish making the tape and how did it feel?
About 2 months.

What do you guys think about it?
I love it and just hope others feel the same way
