What's your myspace link or any other link you want to give us?
Who are you and where are you all from?
We are David Allee, Joshua Mervin, Sam Carsley, and Joe Blodgett. Joe and I were born and raised in Whittier, CA, and Sam and Josh are from the San Fransisco Bay area.
How was your band formed?
Joe and I were in a band that used to be called Driving by Braille; we had gotten to a point where we had lost enough band members that the identity of the band had been lost and our direction had changed enough to start looking for a new name and some new members.
What band has influenced you the most?
The classics: Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Jawbreaker, Jeff Buckley, Jimmy Eat World, Refused, Queen, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, oh and that one band Coldplay.
What do you try to have people get out of your music?
I want our music to make people feel.... anything really.... Besides just liking the songs I want them to make people remember things or feel things they haven't in a while. I want all of the jocks in the world to cry and not be ashamed.
What inspires your lyrics? What are they all about?
I have no idea. I put more into the music than into the lyrics. But they usually end up being something I want to feel rather than something that has actually happened.
Any venue or area that is your dream to play at?
Your house. Or Dodger stadium - whatever comes first.
What makes you different from other bands out there?
Nothing. We'll do it whether anyone thinks we're different or not.
Have a CD out? If so how can we get it?
Yes, it's our first ep, "The Glory." It's available on iTunes. We've only been around about a year, so it's our first five songs. Our full length, "The Greatness," should be out later this year.
If you could give advice to a starting band or musician, what would you say?
Don't stop learning, and be humble, 'cause you probably suck.
What do you guys like to do on the road?
Drink, eat, and act like idiots. Why? What else is there?
Do you have any upcoming shows?
A couple in the works, the dates are at myspace. com/theyourmajesty
What do you think about UFOs?
I'm more worried about what to wear.
What are your views on the war that's going on today?
Well my sister is in Army, so I hate it because it's war. But I think we should still be supportive of the troops because chances are they didn't know what they were signing up for.
What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
The same ones i listed above, but with Bad Religion and Minor Threat in there.
Anything else you want to say to fans or anyone reading this interview?
Go buy "Songs in the key of Life".
