Do you guys have any other websites?
No. We aren't cool enough to have any friend in web design. We don't need them anyway

How do you guys like working with Mind Explosion Records?
It's great. They heard us spinning at a seedy little bar in Echo Park at the beginning of this summer. The dude who approached us (DJ DayGo POP) was a sweaty mess from dancing. He wanted us to spin with him the week after in Hollywood. So we took that and after the set was done we showed him some beats we were working on and then he signed us on the spot.

We have a lot of readers from all over the world, where are you guys from and what is the music scene like there?
We're from La Brea. Grew up in LA. The nightlife here is exactly what you would think. Late nights, cheap drinks good uncut (drug reference) and hot women. Good club scene here that took a liking to us right away. Most of our fans are internationally based so thats great they'll have a chance to read this.

Do you have any upcoming shows?
We're playing Kouture's birthday next month. Then club A.G.C.K, which is this kind of touring underground club that we got locked into. After that it's Seattle for two after party shows at Swindle. One for Crystal Castles then another for Turbonegro the following night which we're looking forward too DJing. So far we've had offers to play the Vice pub in London, a few shows in Germany, one DJ set in Tokyo and requests to play Mexico again. But no set dates so far.

What inspires what little of lyrics that you have?
To tell you the truth were usually heavily drunk or on (drug reference) from the party or set the night before. The stuff you hear are just catch phrases thought up that we were lucky enough to write down on napkins.

What inspires your beats and music style?
Disappointment in the punk and hardcore scenes. No one wants to have fun anymore.

What is the best thing about music?
It's an excuse to rub against sweaty women you don't know without getting arrested. Also another excuse to party. Did we say that already?

Any funny/interesting stories?
Nothing you can print

What do you think about UFOs?
we refuse to answer this question due to our moral beliefs

What religion are you guys and does it effect your music?
Adam is Jewish and Kyle is agnostic

What do you guys do for work right now, other than playing music?
We don't. We travel to much to have jobs. Kyle doesn't even own a car. Adam's got horrible renters credit.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
We grew up listening to mostly punk and hardcore, but it was really whatever band caught our ear. The Clash, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Refused. Were even huge Prodigy geeks.

What band have influenced you the most?
Honestly, our music represents our party lifestyles. We make music where that lifestyle can come through. Right now were really into Crystal Castles and XO Skeletons. So obviously you might hear some similarities on our upcoming 7"

Anything you would like to say to your fans reading this interview? If you're lucky enough to catch our set in your city, better dance your (expletive deleted) off! Oh and thanks.

When can we expect a cd from The Handbandits? There's some tracks we've got for a upcoming 7" thats got a working title of - NEON//KNIFE. Theres talk about doing a split 7" with a band the we cant name due to Mind Explosion Records, but we will tell you it's not a electro band.

Do you have any promoting secrets that you would like to chair with us?
We'll CHER some. Number one -Go party and find out how it's done. Number 2 - Repeat

What do you think of Big Smile Magazine?
We like that theres coverage for multiple scenes. Plus your interviewing us so you have good taste. LOL - Adam actually said LOL.
