Hi my name is Eric Solomon, i play guitar and sing. Chris ryan plays drums and generally looks good.
How do you guys like working with Beartrap PR?
Its pretty awesome. Chuck is an amazing guy. He bascially had this idea of doing a pr company and i think we were one of the first three bands to sign on with him, and it's been a joy ever since. He is really talented at what he does, and personally i think he is to cheap!
What inspires most of your lyrics?
Alot of my lyrics are inspired by relationships that you have with people. Wether it be a dating relationship, a friendly one, a seller/consumer relationship. Alot of it just deals with how we treat others, and i how i feel about the situation.
Do you have any upcoming shows that we should go to?
We have some local shows coming up, and then we are doing a week tour out to THE FEST. Then in Dec. we are doing two weeks with our friends Ghost Town Trio (from oberlin, oh), in the northeast.
What is the title of your latest album?
Sweet Junk. Its a split 7" with By The End Of Tonight (this amazing band from houston, tx on temporary residence LTD)
How many songs are one it and how long did it take for you guys to finish the recording?
There is just one song on it. Its called "I-10". It was recorded at the old OP!!!'s drummer's studio. The whole concept for the split was decided on 12/31/06 in austin tx. The song was recorded in may, and the record just came out in like early august. It took a while to get our song, and by the end of tonight took a while to! SO MANY PARTS!
What is the best thing about playing music?
The Cathartic feeling after playing a show. Knowing that you are so tired from having so much fun and relieving stress and pressure.
Do you guy have any tours in the making?
We have a short oct. tour to THE FEST. Then in Dec. a two to three week tour going to the northeast, then in the spring sometime europe! i'm really excited about that.
What do you think about UFOs?
IF you seem them, they are tottally real! I'm also quite certain they exist. I've never personally seen one, but you know.
What do you think of vegetarians?
I'm fine with them. Neither Chris nor i are vegetarians, but if you can do it more power to you!
What were some of your favorite bands growing up and what bands have influenced your band the most?
I can't say what Chris' favorite bands are. But i know i was defienatly influnced by alot of the NO IDEA BANDS. I'd have to say the three records that had the most impact on me are: 1. Against Me!'s- "reinventing Axl Rose", 2. American Steel- "Jagged Thoughts", 3. Kid Dynamite- "Shorter Faster Louder" so hopefully that makes some sense as to why we send the way we do.
Do any of the members of the band play in any other bands?
Chris plays in a band called Black Congress, as well as God's Temple Of Family Deliverance. you should check them both out. AMAZING.
Do you have any promoting secrets that you would like to share with our readers?
Just have a good time at what you are doing and word will get around.
