When I first heard Monster Squad's 'Strength through Pain', it did take some time to get used to because their sound was different from what I was used to. I am so glad that I took the time to pay close attention to their sound and lyrics.

Strength through Pain is Monster Squad's first full length album which was produced by Charged Records in 2004. Even though Monster Squad has been around since 1997 and put out Ep’s and splits, this was their first album. Again very honest with their lyrics, but as far as sound, Monster Squad is more hardcore than punk. It’s not fair to call these guys a punk band because these guys really know how to construct a song. Not one song sounds the same on this album so every track is refreshing to the ears. The intros, bridges, and timing are very complex. Most songs on the album are up beat, but they also have the original hardcore sound mixed with the hardcore of now.

From beginning to end this CD is awesome. Play this CD, scream your lungs out, and let your anger flow freely.
