Hi, My name is Jonny Havoc. What is your name and what do you play in the band?

My name is Dylan Gilbert. It's a solo project so I play mostly everything, with the exception of a few friends sometimes.

What are some of your up coming shows?

Whan did you start your band, and what gave you the inspiration to make music?

I came from a musical family. Both of my parents are incredible musicians and they've played in different bands and projects my whole life. I started playing guitar when I was about 13 years old making weird experimental music on a 4-track in my bedroom. Most of that isn't listenable, ha ha. Through high school I was in a punk band and then we all graduated and I decided to do something different. Ive been performing as a solo artist ever since. I take inspiration for my songs from everything in life. Thats a pretty cliche answer right?

We have a lot of readers from California. Could you tell us a little about the music scene in North Carolina?

The music scene here is really cool. Its a little cliquey at times, if you understand my meaning. But that's been true everywhere I've been. There's a good deal of really cool avante-garde music and a lot of what I guess you would call "folk rock".

What is your latest CD that you released?

At this exact moment my latest CD is called "The Artist & The Scientist" but I've got a new full length called "The Quiet Life" that should be out in about two weeks.

What religion are you and does it affect your music in any way?

Breaking out the personal ones eh? I believe in God and that Jesus is the son of God. How could that not affect my music in some way?

How do you like working with Code Blue Media?

They're a great bunch of guys.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up?

I suppose I'm still growing up so here's some: The Beatles, Weezer, The Beach Boys, M. Ward, Neutral Milk Hotel.

What band is your biggest influence right now for your music?

I'd have to say Brian Wilson is a big influence on me; I can relate to him.

Is there anything that you would like to say to you fans reading this interview?

I think this is my favorite question.
