What is your website? www.daybreakends.com
What is your MySpace? www.myspace.com/daybreakends
What is your PureVolume? www.purevolume.com/daybreakends

What genre is your music? hard rock

Who got you interested in playing this kind of music?
Greg - I love music more than anything and there is nothing else I would rather be doing than performing or people and writing songs

What is music to you?
Greg - Music is an expression. It allows a person to say what cannot be said by normal words

How did you come up with your band name?
Greg - A friend of the band suggested it and we all liked it a lot more than the other band names we had come up with. There isn't really a great story behind the name.

What does your band name mean?
Well at first we didn't really think about what the name meant but it sort of means that the end of something is the beginning of something else. Daybreak is dawn and when it ends, it is the beginning of a new day

What other bands have you been in, why did they end or how are they going?
Greg - I was in dumb bands in school that never really went anywhere. We are all focused on Daybreak Ends.

What are some of your shows coming up?
Greg - We are holding off on shows until we finish recording out new CD. We will start playing more shows in late April.

What venue would you like to play the most that you haven't played at?
Red Rocks in Colorado. It is an amazing venue and a historic place.

What venue has been the best to play at?
We had an amazing show at CBGB's in New York City. It was great to play there because of the history and now that it has closed down it is cool to say we have played there when it still existed.

What city or area has been the best place to play?
We do really well in Denver. We pack the place and we love the fans there. The whole town is rabid about music. San Antonio is also very good to us.

What city or area has been the worst place to play?
We have very poor luck in Indiana for some reason. Every show we have played there something has gone wrong. We need to figure out whats up with that state

When, Where and How was your first show if you can remember?
Our first show as Daybreak Ends was at the Whisky in Hollywood. It was a Saturday night and we opened for a Queen cover band. It was okay. I was a little nervous but we rocked it. That seems like a million years ago even though it was 2.

How have you seen yourselves get better since then?
Ha! We are so much better than we were back then! We have been on 4 tours so playing almost ever night in other cities has made us very tight as musicians and it has made our live show a lot more exciting.

What makes a show the best?
When the crowd is going crazy and singing along and you can tell they are having an amazing time!

Who do you one day want to play a show with or open for that you havent allready?
We would all love to play with AFI or HIM. Both of those bands rock. Honestly, we would prefer to play with any band. We love to meet new bands! Its one of the perks of the job!

Why do you play music?
We play music because we love music and love the music we make. We hope other people will like it too and support us!

What inspires most of your lyrics?
I try to write lyrics about subjects that are interesting but open ended so that people can get what they want out of them. If someone is reading our lyrics then that means a lot because it means that they are involved in the song and like it enough to go deeper into its meaning.

How many people in the band right now are the original band members?
Two of us are original members. Me (greg) and james (bass). Jonny (drums) replaced our old drummer about two years ago and Mike (guitar) replaced our old guitar player after he quit in December of 05.

When was your band formed?
We formed in October of 2004

Where do you wish for your band to be in 5 years?
We wish to have 3 more CD's ou and to be touring the US and the world.

What do you think its going to take to get there?
We are just going to play music and tell everyone we can about our band and hopefully we will peak enough interest that a label will want to distribute our CD and put us on a badass tour.

Do you have any advice to starting bands?
If your going to join or form a band, be prepared to work and be persistent. Bands that make it are the bands that have paid their dues and have been around a while.

What other instruments can (each person) play (other than the ones they currently play in the band)?
James can play guitar and Mike can play drums, I can play guitar and drums but I am not very good at either.

What do you think about UFOs?
We played in Roswell, NM during an alien festival. It was pretty cool because everyone came from all over to talk about aliens and stuff. Its like the biggest thing there! I dont know if there are aliens out there but it seems like the universe is too big to just have one planet like Earth.

Does being involved in playing music make you miss out on anything?
We have to give up a lot of things to be in the band but I personally wouldn't trade being in Daybreak Ends for anything. Relationships and jobs seem to be impossible because we spend so much time on the road and doing shows and stuff but we make it work and so far everything has been good.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
Growing up I listened to Metallica, Pantera, Tool, Entombed, Slayer, etc. I guess I was kind of a metal kid. The first CD I ever bought was Metallica's "And Justice for All"

Have you lost any fans for doing something drastic? (like moving to a bigger label, changing your sound, ect)
Well we haven't really lost fans because we are still working on gaining fans. It seems like every show we play we get more people there so we must being doing something right.

Anything you would like to say to your fans reading this interview?
Thanks for supporting us and coming out to the shows. Our new CD will be out in a few months and we guarantee you wont be disappointed!

How was your last tour?
Our last tour rocked! We were out for 4 months and played a lot of great places and met so many people!

How does it feel to tour with the band members?
Its fun! We get these crazy inside jokes that no one understands and by the time we get back to regular life, we have to transition because we aren't around each other as much. Its like being in prison for so long and then when you get out you wanna go back in cause you can't adapt to the outside world

What do you guys do on the road to keep busy?
I bought a PSP before tour so I played that a lot. We also have laptops and stuff. We buy whiffle ball bats and weights and work out and play baseball in wal mart parking lots.

Do you have any advice to bands about to go on their first tour?
Well just be prepared to face things you never thought you would. There are parts of the tour that go smooth but there is always the part of tour where all sorts of crazy stuff happens. Just make sure you enjoy it because it is a time of your life you will look back on fondly.

What's your latest cd?
We are recording our new CD on March 26th with david Dominguez. He engineered Papa Roach's "Infest" and has worked with Staind, Stabbing Westward, and Orgy. we are excited about it because it is going to be amazing and our first full length CD

Where can we get it?
Once it is out we will have for sale at shows and at www.ebandstore.com
